The warmer temperatures and the spring sunshine between April showers has us in the mood to entertain. Maybe you’re looking for some new patio furniture to welcome friends outside? Is the family coming for Easter lunch? Maybe you’re thinking of a fun Kentucky Derby Day party next month? Anytime is a good time for cocktails.

Indoors or out, at Cameron Village we have what you need to make the most of being a host this spring.

Out on the patio

Now is the time to dust off the patio furniture and accessories you’ve had in storage all winter. Assistant Manager Karen Bartlett and the staff at the Cameron Village Pier 1 have all the spring patio finds for the perfect outdoor party. When you come in, Bartlett helps customers start finding the spring patio look they seek, “First we want to ask them about what kind of color palette they’re working with. Are they wanting to start from scratch, or do they have things they’re trying to match?”

Bartlett says dark blue and pink are on trend for spring, 2019 and shows off the store’s front display, “If you’re using things you already have, adding in details can change it up and completely renew the look. Pillows, umbrellas, outdoor resistant art.”

Bartlett shows off the store’s Clarity acrylic drinkware and melamine line of dishes. “ It looks like glassware, but it’s actually made from a durable, shatterproof acrylic. Melamine plates that look pretty and are appropriate for outdoors are for both adults and children,” she says.

Ultimately, Bartlett believes your outdoor spaces are an extension of your home, and Pier 1 can help make them liveable, “Make that outdoor space feel like an outdoor living area and not just a patio or porch,” she says.

Setting the springtime table

If you haven’t had your whole family over for a meal or all your friends for dinner since the holidays, spring can be a perfect time to host again. Manager Kaleigh Young sets a large dining room table with a charming spring theme. “We have really beautiful tables here. All of our tables are handmade. It’s nice, quality, livable furniture. So if you’re hosting your family for Easter dinner, you don’t have to worry about coasters. Your whole family can gather around it and really live in it. That’s what we try to do around here. We try to really live in our furniture.”

Take your party outdoors or inside and serve your guests with style. At Nest Interiors, Cameron Village’s premiere interior design and decorators, you’ll find stylish accessories for entertaining. Manager Amanda Blanton set up a gorgeous Metal Clover Side Table Bar Cart, ideal for a spring cocktail party. “It’s a fun way to glam up any indoor or outdoor space. You can add accessories to dress it up and add your own personal touches.”

When the party is over, this cart can live on in your house year round, “It’s versatile. You can use it as a side or end table too. It has a glamorous look,” Blanton says.

Spice up Spring

Is grilling out your idea of spring entertaining? Spice things up this spring at Penzeys Spices. Penzeys’s motto, “Love people. Cook them tasty food,” is an idea we can get behind this season!

Penzeys staff can show you great spice boxes with an assortment of flavors for your whole meal. A popular spice for spring is the delicious tang of lemon pepper!

Seasonal Menu

Okay, your spring gathering is on the calendar, what will you serve? Hors d’oeuvres with cocktails? A full Easter meal? If you need help planning, head to the Fresh Market at Cameron Village.

Jyrel Blue, Assistant Store Manager says his staff will help your make your party delicious. He points to the store’s hugely popular Easter Meal, prepped and ready for customers. “I recommend the Easter Meal. For $69.99 you can feed a family of about 8 to 10 people.” He raves over the mashed potatoes and fully cooked ham. Many items are cooked in store and you just heat them up before your guests arrive.
