Springtime in The Village

This week our sunny sidewalks are bustling with shoppers. Look closely, very few of them are wearing jackets. Diners are sitting in the breeze on patios outside our restaurants. Wait! Are those buds on the trees overhead?

Spring is here at Cameron Village. We welcome the delicious foods, bright decor and fun fashions that make the season one of our favorites. Excited for the warmer temperatures, but dread springtime allergies? Don’t worry! We have some seasonal self-care to have you breathing easier this year.

Fresh Menus

Over at so.ca latina cocina, General Manager Emily Smith is excited to have the restaurant’s large, cabana style patio open to customers. “We started doing that this week. It’s just been so nice!” she says. Smith explains that so.ca staff is most excited about their new spring brunch menu. She describes it as “A refresh for the spring with fresh, local produce.”

Executive Chef Eli Rodriguez, originally from El Salvador, always features fresh menu options with influences from more than 20 countries. Smith explains the chef’s excitement to offer the new Salvadoran Papusa de Queso with local pork shoulder, sunny side up egg, salsa roja, curtido, stewed black beans, queso fresco and avocado. “We’re really excited to do something new!”

Spring at so.ca doesn’t end with brunch. Watch for a new seasonal dinner menu later this month too.

Bright Table Decor

If you’re entertaining at home this season, look no further than Steven Shell Living. Florals are the trend to bring colors to spring table decor. Throughout the store’s extensive selection of quality, eclectic furniture and accessories are bright spring flowers.

Steven Shell has adorable springtime hostess gifts or Easter decor too. A popular present has been tea towels with, you guessed it, flowers! If you’re already thinking about Easter, don’t miss these chicks with bunny ears. Nestle them among the florals on your table for the sweetest spring look.

Fun Fashions

When spring arrives, we can’t wait to stash our coats and boots and freshen up our look! Angie White, Manager at fab’rik unpacks shipments of new dresses and skirts as her store fills up. She says, “Days like today with the warm weather, it has been busy!” White says pleated skirts are on trend this season and customers are loving the spring 2020 colors. “A lot of girls are coming in for the smocked dresses, white jeans, lots of pastel colors like baby blues.”

If we’re being honest, we’re already thinking about swimsuit weather, too! At Bella Mar, Store Manager Emily Pay sorts through a line of popular, bright neon two-piece swimsuits. She says, “Everyone is ready to go on trips. The girls are going on Spring Break.” Pay says shoppers are looking for KB Swim at Bella Mar. The popular swimwear line out of Wilmington, NC offers eco-sustainable looks for all women, in the colors that are on trend this year. “Definitely something for everybody. If you like a little bit more coverage, we’ll have some of that, but if you like to show a little bit more skin, we’ll have that as well,” Pay says.

Seasonal Self-Care

Spring is a time of rejuvenation so there is no better time than now to rejuvenate your body and spirit. Hand & Stone Massage and Facial Spa offers clients a refreshing deal for spring that could help you breathe easier during allergy season. Manager Sarah Miller explains the Mini Cold Stone Facial Massage.“Cold stones are marble stones that retain their temperature better than any other stones. Your therapist will apply a nice warm towel to your face, then a lovely massage oil, then they’ll start to use the cold stones around your face and around your eyes,” she says.

Hand & Stone offers a variety of professional spa services seven days a week. In March, the Mini Cold Stone Facial Massage is available for just $10 with any regular massage or facial service. “It’s wonderful if you have sinus issues, if you’re dealing with allergies. Spring allergies are coming! We thought this would be a great way to get people used to this service,” Miller says.

We’re feeling refreshed already and we can’t wait to feel the rejuvenation at Cameron Village all season. Happy Springtime!
